An ACE of an Ice Cream Deal

Looking at the front door at ACE Hardware in Downtown Farmington I noticed a sign, 50% off all Ice Cream.  I didn’t realize they had ice cream but inside ACE has a freezer of Ice Cream Sandwiches and a few other treats.

Ice Cream Sandwich (king Size) $1.00 on sale for $.50

Butterfinger Ice Cream Treat$1.80 on sale for $.90

Treats for two people, $1.40, that’s good to know.

I can’t promise the sign will be on the door tomorrow but it’s worth a look.

  1. Lactose tolerant

Farmington needs to come clean and acknowledge that we may have an ice cream addiction issue. Perhaps there needs to be an intervention. Have you noticed how many ice cream cones per capita the city has accrued since allowing Hersheys, Coldstone, and now ACE to profligate in the downtown area? Something is wrong when the local tattoo parlour’s best selling tattoo is of a 2 scoop waffle cone! Maybe we can somehow embrace it and integrate it into the community by having a softserve convention or something? I cant believe the branding study missed it. Well atleast its a good thing they did those walking studies. We will need to walk off a whole lot of saturated fat, if people continue to give in to this vice. Hank B and I can only hope that the new streetscape allowed for resting stations throughout, for those of us who ordered the jumbo blizzard with mega sprinkles.
By the way, the Silver Dairy’s drive-thru is fab! No need to even get out of your car-and they have fries n gravy as well.

  2. What a perfect example for marketing ‘synergy’.

Fitness 19 could send employees over to ACE to hand out emergency coupons, whilst our many salons could tout the benefit of larger coifs in order to offset larger waistlines.

Perhaps a Lane Bryant is in the works for the old Tuesday Morning space? Will the Dress Barn live up to it’s name?

I see a need for an adjustment in the Master Plan.

Benches are going to need to be widened.

(P.S. – do those fries n gravy at Silver Dairy come with a side of mayonnaise?)

  3. This is hitting a little too close to home.

I’ve spent all summer telling myself that riding bike downhill requires a person to breathe more quickly, which burns more calories – so the trip to Silver Dairy is actually calorie neutral.

I know I’m in denial but it’s okay – I shop Lane Bryant AND the Dress Barn.

  4. I, too am of the bodily type that requires that extra cut of fabric in the clothes I buy. Any chance we’ll have a Big & Tall in downtown Farmington anytime soon? Might I be sensing the formation of a theme for our “little” town? : )

I like your thinking about the trips to the Silver Dairy, Joni. Now if you can help me figure out how to calculate the energy expended by opening my garage door, pulling that seat belt all the way over to my other side, and coordinating hand and foot to navigate my vehicle through the Drive-Thru and how this too can be presented as “calorie-neutral”, I would be most appreciative.
(I also breathe heavily while attempting this feat – probably less to do with exertion than with anticipation..)
