Be a friend, support the Heritage & History Center November 15

Anyone interested in local history is invited to the first meeting of the Friends of the Heritage and History Center at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 15, to learn more about the community’s first museum devoted to the shared history of Farmington and Farmington Hills.

The Heritage and History Center building, commonly known as the Palmer Sherman house, was used by the caretaker on the grounds of the popular Longacre House. It is located in Heritage Park on Farmington Road between 10 Mile and 11 Mile in Farmington Hills.

Among the fund-raising ideas under consideration is a limited edition Christmas card that features an image of the snow-covered farmhouse style home, which will be offered in the Center’s gift shop. Those who attend the first Friends meeting are asked to bring their best ideas for fund-raising and community involvement.

The Heritage and History Center in Farmington Hills is a joint project operated under an agreement between the City of Farmington Hills and Pastways, Inc., a local non-profit devoted to collecting history, sharing our past and passing along our heritage.
