Remember when former State Representative and Andrew “Rocky” Raczkowski, a life-long resident of Farmington Hills, said he wasn’t running for U.S. Senate because he might be getting called up? Well, he was right. U.S. Army Reserve Major Andrew “Rocky” Raczkowski is about to return to active duty for a year.
Friends and family have found a way to send him off in style, while raising funds for two causes very close to his heart. They’re going to “roast” Rocky the day before he leaves and proceeds from the event will go to the 414th Family Readiness Fund, supporting the family members of his unit, and the ALS Association’s Michigan chapter, which seeks a cure for Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Join them October 10th, 2008 at the Polish American Cultural Center in Troy. Doors open at 7 p.m., the program begins at 8 p.m. There’ll be a reception, dinner and cash bar. Tickets are on-line at StarTickets
This is a worthy cause, not only for the organizations that will benefit, but to honor someone who has given a lot to his country and his community. We wish him safe travels in the coming year.
