BUCK AN EAR CORN ROAST
The Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market will be hosting the 2nd annual “Buck An Ear” Corn Roast Fundraiser on Saturday, August 30 from 10-2 at the Walter Sundquist Pavilion in downtown Farmington. The corn, donated by the local farmers who come to the market each week, will be roasted over hot coals and served with salt and butter. All proceeds will go to support Farmers Market events throughout the season. The Pirate themed event will include pirate facepainting and children dressed as pirates will be entered in a drawing for a mystery prize. The corn roast also kicks off the start of the 4th annual “Scarecrows among us” scarecrow building contest, sponsored by C and G newspapers, to be held during Harvest Moon month in October. Scarecrow registration forms will be available, as well as added information about the upcoming Harvest Moon events. Scarecrow judging will be on Oct. 18th with prizes in 3 categories. The Sundquist Pavilion is located in the downtown Farmington Center at the corner of Grand River and Grove Street.
