Power Road construction update

The curb and gutter on Power Road between Shiawassee and 10 Mile shone bright white as I drove past early this afternoon. At last night’s council meeting, DPW director Kevin Gushman estimated a base layer of asphalt will be laid soon on that section, and once the “touch up” work is done, the final layer of asphalt can be applied to the whole length of Power from Grand River to 10 Mile. Look for traffic lanes to open up in early September, which should be pretty much on time. Not bad, considering how often rain delayed the project.

I’ll miss taking Raphael, but I bet Our Lady of Sorrows won’t miss the extra traffic.
