Belated kudos to Farmington Area Founders Festival Director Kathleen Donnelly for a successful event. As the general running an army of volunteers, she keeps things running smoothly, even whe accidents happen. Her quick response to an accident at the carnival rides on Friday morning was reported in the Farmington Observer today; Donnelly kicked the carnival business out of Riley Park after learning a child had been injured and replaced those rides with bouncers.
I’ve often wondered often about the value of carnival rides and games at the Festival. Shouldn’t kids be playing with barrel hoops and shooting marbles in Riley Park?
