Saturday morning cartoons safe for kids

Bryan Belesky, the man who brought Toldeo Mudhens baseball to SWOCC’s Info TV-12 in Farmington, Farmington Hills and Novi, just nabbed another cool show, this one just for kids.

Belesky heard the program, “Adventures in Odyssey,” and liked it so much, he called the people who distribute it. Distributed by Focus on the Family, a national evangelical Christian organization, AIO focuses on life lessons learned by two children who travel to a town called Odyssey. The production values are high, Belesky says, and instead of pitches for sugary cereals and toys, commercials consist of public service announcements with positive values. This is a show you won’t see anywhere else in Southeast Michigan.

Adventures in Odyssey is part of Info TV-12′s new family-friendly Saturday morning line-up. It starts at 9:30 a.m. with The Story Lady, followed by AIO, then a historical adventure with Inspector Elliot Pastways, SciEngiMathePloration (both of which my husband has a hand in producing), The Cutting Room Floor, which features local music groups and then Toledo Mudhens baseball at 1 p.m. It’s a wholesome alternative to commercial TV.
