This will teach us to read the Sunday Observer

Totally missed Sunday’s Farmington Observer endorsement of Richard Lerner in the House District 37 Republican primary.

I read through it a few times today and picked up what I hope will be a trend this year – a move away from candidates who show a strong party affiliations and a move toward those who seem suited for a thoughtful and collaborative approach to Michigan’s economic challenges. Paul Welday’s campaign thus far has clearly telegraphed a hard-line party approach. The fact that he chose to issue a press release poking a stick at the Democrat who will run in the general election, even before the primary ends, shows exactly what Michigan needs less of.

The Enterprise doesn’t really endorse. This is a blog, and I don’t think it’s in a position to take elections quite so seriously – yet. But I can certainly agree with the Observer editorial’s logic.
