Get zoo millage information on July 9

Oakland County Commissioner Mike Rogers, who represents Farmington and parts of Farmington Hills, will host a special town hall meeting that will educate the public on the upcoming Detroit Zoo millage that will be presented to voters in the August Primary.

The special meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 9th, at Maxfield Training Center, 33000 Thomas Street in Downtown Farmington. The meeting will be held from 7 p.m.- 8 p.m., in the conference room. At this town hall meeting the public will be educated on the Detroit Zoo’s 0.1-mill regional tax and will have an opportunity to ask questions about the millage.
“This town hall meeting is not geared to promote or discourage a vote for or against the zoo. It is to educate and inform the public on the issue. It is my hope that any misunderstanding or concerns about the millage can be addressed at this meeting. For these reasons, I am hosting this event to give people the facts. It is a chance for the public to talk to the people who are involved in the millage ballot effort,” stated Oakland County Commissioner Mike Rogers.

For more information, contact Commissioner Mike Rogers at 313-224-9700.
