Mortgage Company Defies The Odds By Giving Itself A Make-Over
Farmington, MI, June 27, 2008 — Mutual Mortgage Corporation recently celebrated its twentieth anniversary of being in business in downtown Farmington, but the company has now reinvented itself. Founder, president, and nationally ranked mortgage originator, Mark Heppard, has reorganized his company in order resist the effects of a chillier mortgage climate. Mark Heppard has been ranked among the top 200 mortgage originators in the country for number of loans closed for the last eleven years running. Yet even he has felt the pressure of a decrease in business due to market conditions. Hundreds of mortgage companies have scaled back their operations, or disappeared completely while trouble in the mortgage industry continues to grow. In response to his loyal clients who can’t sell their homes due to a dire Michigan real estate market, Heppard has started a full service property management company. Mutual Property Management helps clients rent homes they can’t sell and offers tenant management services. They also help clients take advantage of discounted real estate inventory by assisting them in the purchase of distressed properties for investment ownership.
“We now have an expanded menu of services beyond just mortgage consulting”, says Heppard.
In an effort to reach clients outside of Michigan and accommodate clients with out of state properties, Heppard has merged his resources with Mortgage Now Inc., based in Cleveland, Ohio. This will allow them to offer mortgage services in more than 20 states, which is expected to steadily increase.
“Many of our clients have second homes, investment properties and referrals outside of Michigan. We now can expand our client base and offer everyone much faster approval times”, says Heppard. He is confident that his expanded offerings will spark a turnaround in profits by the end of the year.
